The Fall of Altairus
Do you ever wonder why no one believes in magic anymore? You might think it’s because we’ve come up with scientific explanations for magical acts, or that such things are the remnants of a religion no longer relevant to the modern era. You would be forgiven for thinking these thoughts. There was once a time where magic ruled the land, where humans and fairies coexisted, sometimes peacefully, sometimes tenuously, and miracles were a given. Such a time does not exist anymore. This is the story of how the magic on Earth died. Beyond this planet we call home there exists another Earth, a mirror Earth, if you will. Humans know this world by many names, but its denizens know it by one; Altairus. Long ago, Earth and Altairus were connected via a series of portals. These portals tended to show up in places where imagination could reign; in the middle of the forest, in an oceanic cave, or even in a child’s closet. Humans and faeries alike could traverse between worlds
